Newspaper articles referencing guide (PDF download).
Note
- If the article is from a live newspaper website, such as FT.com or guardian.com, include the URL in the reference list.
- If the URL is long, then you can use a URL shortener, such as bit.ly or Bitly or TinyURL.
- If the article is taken from a subscription database, such as ProQuest International Newsstream or Gale Primary Sources, do not include a URL. You can include the page number if available.
- These articles can be found in Summon because the Library subscribes to these databases.
- If the article is from a hard copy (paper) newspaper then include page number/s.
- If there is no author on the article, refer to the missing information section of our guide.
