Accessibility Statement for Alma

Alma is a cloud-based library system developed by Ex Libris. The University of Huddersfield began using the system in May 2018.

Two parts of the system are accessible to library users and are covered by this accessibility statement:

  1. Alma Services Page
  2. Library Account Page

Alma Services Page

The Services Page is typically displayed after clicking on a search result in Summon. It can show book availability in the library or provide links to the online full text of a book or journal article.

Reporting accessibility problems with the Alma pages

We are always looking to improve the accessibility of our services. If you find any problems, please email

As the University is not the developer of the software, we can only raise a support call or submit an enhancement request.

Enforcement Procedure

The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the "accessibility regulations"). If you're not happy with how we respond to your complaint, contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

Technical Information about Alma's Accessibility

Alma is a product developed by Ex Libris and is partially compliant with WCAG 2.0. The areas without full compliance are largely only accessible to library staff.
