African Academic Integrity Seminar

I’ve travelled to Cape Town to participate in the first African Academic Integrity Conference. It’s been a great opportunity to catch up with Stella Orim from Coventry and her fascinating research on the attitudes of Nigerian students to plagiarism when studying in the UK. Her evidence is compelling and demonstrates the complexity of this issue; something that is relevant to many international students.

  1. Hi Cath, There was no time to tell you at the African Academic Integrity workshop in Johannesburg that I was very interested in your use of Turnitin, not only as you are clearly using the (for us) future version, but by your use of the tools to gather worthwhile information. I am referring to the analytics of the colour coding in GradeMark. I have a PhD student who would benefit from using this technique in her research. Do you have a publication on this, either by yourself or someone else, that we can cite?
I am looking forward to a reply, thanks
    Lynette
