UCB Radio

Due to increasing demand for training for UCB radio, I have decided to hold an extra radio session on Monday 14th May 2012 between 13.15 and 15.00 for all the students who were in exams this week and couldn’t make the introductory sessions, but would still like to be involved with the radio training.

Throughout the summer we will be training students to be presenters, producers and researchers for UCB radio which will officially launch during fresher’s week in September 2012.

This is exclusive training unlike no other! Students will be taught by the best in the industry! We have Radio 1 DJ Adam Catterall, Sony gold award winning Dixie from Real Radio, Simon Hirst and Becky Hayes from Capital Fm, Ollie Hayes from Hallam Fm and myself who’s worked at Real Radio, Hallam Fm, Dearne Fm , BBC Sheffield, BBC Leeds and BBC Radio York.

If students wish to take advantage of this rare opportunity, they should contact me at s.chesterton@hud.ac.uk or on 01226 644350.

Sessions will be held every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the summer until the launch in September.

It is not compulsory to attend all the sessions, although students must be present during the first week.

Skydrive – free upgrade and mobile apps

UPGRADE YOUR MICROSOFT SKYDRIVE TO 25GB

Microsoft have very cheekily reduced all hotmail and live@edu Skydrive storage spaces to 7GB from 25GB.  It is possible to upgrade back to 25GB free of charge for a limited time, so please hurry to grab your share as soon as you can!  Please find instructions above to show you how this can be done.

Also, you can now access your Skydrive directly from your computer and mobile device with an app.  Please check out these webpages for details on how to do it – it makes life much easier.  We are working on being able to add this to the student computers for next year, so keep your fingers crossed …
