Open Mic Wednesdays at Thomas of York Bar

We are UCB students hosting open Mic nights at “Thomas of York Bar” on Museum Street, York every Wednesday starting at 8pm.  Details can be found here

We would like to welcome anyone who wishes to come along and showcase their talent.

We have a full P.A and a great sound. A Yamaha Tyros 4 Keyboard is also available for any pianist/ Keyboardist to use, no need to bring your own on your back Lol

If anyone is seeking somewhere to showcase their talents or just looking for somewhere to go during the summer break, Thomas of York Bar is a very nice venue which provides for a great atmosphere for all.

So any Musicians, Singers, Comedians, Poets, or even Magicians in fact anyone who wishes to have a go on the open mic or just enjoy an evening of entertainment can bring themselves along and join in the fun….. The more the merrier!!

On Thursday March 1st we will be celebrating World Book Day here at UCB Library.  Fill out a comment card to tell us how you would like us to communicate with you in the future – email, Twitter, text etc – if you do this you will be entered into a prize draw for a £20 book token.

Macmillan Coffee Morning and Welcome (back) to UCB

It’s hard to believe it but the start of a new term is only a few days away. A warm welcome to all new students and hello again to all continuing students, hope you’ve all had a great summer.

The campus will be holding a Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 23 September.   Tea/coffee and cakes (mostly homemade depending on how frazzled we are after all the inductions!) will be available for students in the Library from 10:30 – 12:00.

Students please support our coffee morning by either donating (baking or buying) cakes or by purchasing some at the coffee morning.

UCB Graduation Ball

UCB Students’ Union bring to you the 2011 Graduation Ball open to all students & staff (along with friends & family) of University Campus Barnsley.

To be held at the Bluebell Inn (between Dodworth & Silkstone) on Tuesday 12th July 2011 from 7PM.

Tickets are £25 and will be available from UCB SU Office (Level 3) or UCB Reception.

Ticket price includes a full 3 course meal, School Awards Ceremony & Disco all night long.
